Framer SEO Checklist: What to Check Before Publishing
Framer gives you a strong technical foundation for SEO, but publishing a website does not automatically mean Google understands what every page should rank for. Before launch, you still need to review content structure, metadata, indexing, internal links, and performance.
1. Give every page a clear SEO title
Avoid:
Home
Prefer:
Framer Templates & Custom Websites | Framebundle
Your title should describe the actual topic of the page.
2. Write a unique meta description
Every important page should have its own description.
Focus on:
what the page offers
who it is for
why someone should click
Do not reuse the same description everywhere.
3. Use one clear H1
Your H1 should describe the main topic of the page.
Then organize supporting content underneath with H2 and H3 headings.
4. Use descriptive URLs
Prefer:
/framer-website-cost
instead of:
/page-12
Short, descriptive URLs are easier for both people and search engines to understand.
5. Define one primary search intent per page
Avoid creating several pages that all target exactly the same keyword.
For example:
Homepage → Framer templates and services
Article → Framer website cost
Article → Framer SEO
Article → choosing a Framer template
Each URL should have a clear purpose.
6. Add meaningful alt text
Use alt text when an image communicates useful information.
Example:
Editorial Framer e-commerce template for a fashion brand
Avoid meaningless text such as:
image1234
7. Compress images
Large PNG and JPG files can slow down the site unnecessarily.
Use properly sized assets and modern formats where possible.
8. Check mobile
Review:
typography
navigation
buttons
cards
spacing
image crops
long headings
Mobile should feel deliberately designed.
9. Add internal links
Relevant pages should link to one another.
For example:
An article about Framer templates can link to:
Templates
Services
another Framer article
This helps users navigate and gives search engines clearer information about your site structure.
10. Check canonical URLs
Make sure the preferred version of every page is clear.
This is especially important if multiple URLs can lead to similar content.
11. Check indexing settings
Important public pages should be allowed to appear in search engines.
Pages such as:
internal previews
staging pages
private resources
may need different treatment.
12. Check your sitemap
After publishing, open:
yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml
Make sure your important pages appear.
Then submit the sitemap in Google Search Console.
13. Connect Google Search Console
Search Console tells you:
which pages are indexed
what queries trigger impressions
clicks
average position
crawl issues
Without it, SEO decisions are mostly guesswork.
14. Review structured data
Where relevant, structured data can give search engines more explicit information about the page or business.
Use it only when it accurately represents the content.
15. Keep monitoring after launch
SEO is not a one-time launch task.
After publishing, watch which pages gain impressions and which queries Google associates with them.
That data tells you what to improve next.
The most important SEO principle
Technical settings help, but they cannot rescue weak content.
A strong SEO page should answer a real question clearly and comprehensively.
Start with useful content, then make sure the technical implementation supports it.
